Artist Statement
Growing up in a small town, I learned to appreciate life’s simple moments. These include things like watching a dragon fly go by on a walk to my Papa’s at six years old, making wishes on dandelions in the spring, and even venturing across the road with my family to sled after a snowstorm. With my art, I hope to capture similar moments and feelings of nostalgia and happiness tied to my past and project them as hopes for the future. Responsibility, consistency, and belief guide my creative process, giving my work purpose and direction. These values are structures in my work that provide safety, love, and hope. However, I do stay open to change and embrace new directions when they arise.
